  • Growth Habitat: SS

Crowea “Twice Nice” is an excellent example of Australia’s heritage of drought tolerant plants that are versatile enough to be grown successfully in most areas of Australia.

“Twice as Nice” is a beautiful small garden shrub, with a most spectacular display of gentle pale pink flowers that fade to deep pink-red with age and persist on the shrub, giving twice the amount of flowers. It is a hardy garden hybrid flowering from summer to winter. Butterflies and native bees find this delightful plant hard to resist and congregate on mass though out the flowering season. The beautiful soft green foliage is an added bonus when the plant is not in flower.

“Twice as Nice” grows and flowers best in a well-drained sand to gravel soil in a full sun position. It is a great plant for informal hedging, mass plantings or a specimen plant to brighten any dull spot in the garden. It responds well to pruning after flowering to maintain plant shape and encourage a more prolific flowering the following year. If the soil is poorly drained a raised garden bed is recommended. Alternatively “Twice as Nice” makes a fine large pot specimen, using a premium Australian native potting mix.

“Twice as Nice” is a hardy plant tolerating extended dry periods and heavy frosts. After establishment in the ground, “Twice as Nice” requires no extra watering.
